John Ramirez was just a young boy when his involvement with satanism started. He became a powerful high priest but it was eventually put to an end after an encounter with God.
Childhood days
John grew up in a family of witches and warlocks. His father in particular was very heavily into Santeria and spiritualism. However, he was very unloving and abusive to the family. Because of that, John longed for a relationship with his father.
John’s dark life began after his mother brought him to a tarot card reading wherein they were told to do a ceremony or else he would go blind. So they did it and since then, he was never the same–his personality and everything that he stood for as a boy disappeared. He was also now answering to the demons.
It didn’t take long for John’s involvement with Santeria to deepen. Trained by high rank devil worshippers, he quickly felt powerful and respected. Then his father got murdered when he was 13. And since then, Satan became the father that he never had. The devil told him to do the religion and he will give him anything he wants. So John became devoted to him, doing all sorts of rituals, astral projection, sacrifices, and praying for Christians among others. At this point, he was already a high priest in Palo Mayombe, a form of African spiritualism.
An Invitation to the Christian Church
While John continued his satanism, he met a girl that intrigued him. She invited him to church and even introduced him to her parents, who then started talking to him about Jesus. He kept going to church just to please the girl even though at night he would go and worship the devil.
Then the unthinkable happened one Sunday morning. As the pastor made an altar call, John came forward thinking the devil can’t touch him. But all of a sudden, the demon possessed him and he grabbed the pastor by the throat, almost choking him to death.
Big men then came out to stop him. But instead of throwing him out, about 200 people started praying for him for deliverance. He experienced the power of God that day and he was so amazed by the love and compassion that was shown to him. But he was committed to the dark side.
Freedom from the dark side
Deeply troubled and spiritually drained, John decided to commit a suicide to escape. Before he did, he challenged God to show him that He is bigger than the devil he serves. So he went to sleep and he had a dream that he was in hell where he saw the devil. He was about to grab him when suddenly in John’s hand was the cross. He didn’t understand at that time why he had a cross but the devil had no match against it.
John woke up a changed man. He declared Jesus is Lord and that he will serve Him all the days of his life. He then threw out all his witchcraft things and everything connected to the devil.
It was a long journey to freedom though. John went through spiritual attacks every night for a month. The devil would try to kill him but he cried out for Jesus to help him and he would be saved. He later on realized that God allowed the torments because He wanted to know how much he loves and trusts Him. Since then, the devil never showed up in his house again.
Today, John is radically spreading the Gospel every time the Lord gives him a chance. He also wrote a book about his experience exposing the dangers of the dark side.
“I’ve been victorious in Christ. I got peace, I’m empty no more. I got fulfillment. I have a purpose and I have destiny today. And all because I said yes to the Cross.
